So I start testing, and find that loading any save, at all, causes a CTD - I can start with the alternate start, wait a minute for the initial setups to get done, save, load the save - where I'm standing exactly, same everything - boom, CTD on loading.
I've used save game cleaners to test if I have some kind of orphaned script or other script-related issue and all my test saves (and I've been going through a good dozen or two testing various things I read and see) reported squeeky clean. I tried disabling my mods systematically in small groups until I could load a save, and work back through that last group - but during that testing, the issue reappeared with the initial batch I thought caused it disabled - which tells me it isn't a specific mod causing it.
